Which Sidewinder is a Replacement for Lippert 1621 Pin Box with 15,500 lb Capacity

Question:

Thanks so much for your answer! The hitch that comes with my rig is a Reese 15k ProSeries. I'd like to continue to use this hitch, simply because it comes with the 5th wheel I am buying. However, I want to be sure that the Sidewinder Airborne will work well with this hitch. Are they compatible? Are there any known problems with this combo? Or should I be good to go? Thank you

Thanks for that info! What you have is a Lippert 1621 pin box, and we do have a Sidewinder that will work as a replacement for you.

Yes, you can use your 15,000 lb Pro Series hitch with a SIdewinder. The only thing you need is the Sidewinder Wedge Kit for Pro Series 15K, 16K & 20K (2009 and newer) # 30850 which replaces the universal wedge that comes with the Sidewinder. The reason is because this custom wedge ensures the tightest fit between the hitch and Sidewinder. This wedge is designed to fit hitch part numbers 30090, 30098, 30096, 30089, 30091 so you will want to ensure your hitch is one of these part numbers. If you have a different part number let me know and I will see if there is a wedge for your hitch. I have added a link to a video review of the wedge for you to check out as well.
