Congratulations on the new to you truck bed camper. I recommend to use the Brophy Heavy Duty Cable Camper Jacks part # CX74 which will allow you to load and unload your truck camper. The best thing about these camper jacks is you don't have to permanently install them. The lift brackets simply go under the camper and you can crank them to lift.
Depending on what kind of lock it is, you may be able to cut it off with a dremel tool if it's a padlock style lock. If it's a round lock cylinder you may be able to drill it it out and replace it. A locksmith should be able to do this for you or you can have them try to open it so you can replace it.
Yes you can put insurance on your trailer. Normally this can be done through your auto insurer.
As far as repairs go, you should be able to take it to any trailer repair or mechanic in your area. I do not have any recommendations because we are located in Missouri.
