Question:
What is the headroom needed to mount the ramp assist above the ramp opening? This is for a Charmac Snowmobile trailer, 2001 model, 27foot long, 9-4inch wide.

According to our friends at Redneck Trailer Supply, the reel on the end of the Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring, # ERS120D81 measures 5 inches in diameter, so you would need a bit more than 5 inches of room on the header above the rear door of your snowmobile trailer.
