Question:

I have a 2007 acura mdx. My trailer has a 5 pin connector, I beleive the 5th pin is for a brake lockout selonoid when in reverse, I think it works off of the reverse light circuit. All of the harnesses on your website for this suv only have a 4 pin out. What do i need to purchase to make this work?? Thanks

You are correct, the 5th pin on the 5-pin connector is to provide the reverse lockout feature for surge brakes on the trailer. It will have to tap into the reverse light circuit of your vehicle to operate properly.

We have a part that is designed just for that purpose. It is the Tow Ready 4 Pole to 5 Pole Wiring Adapter, part # 20036. This adapter will plug into the 4-Way connector on your 2007 Acura MDX and the extra blue wire would be spliced into the reverse light circuit on your vehicle.

You will want to use a circuit tester, part # PTW2993, to locate this circuit. This wire will power the reverse lights when the vehicle is in reverse. You will want to connect to the wire that only has power when the vehicle reverse lights are illuminated, this will be the wire you will connect to.

I am including a link to a video of the Tow Ready adapter being installed on a vehicle. The vehicle may be different than your MDX, but the installation would be similar.

If you need to install a 4-Way on your MDX you will still use the Draw-Tite T-One Wiring Harness, part # 118424, that you have referenced. I am including links to the installation instructions on the wiring harness and a video link of the wiring harness being installed on a 2007 Acura MDX.
