Difference Between Curt A25 and Q24 5th Wheel Hitches for 2020 Ford F-350 Factory Rail Kit
Published 12/05/2019 >
Question:
Good morning. I am looking for a 5th wheel hitch for my 2020 Ford F-350 long bed. It has the factory pucks and I'm looking at the Curt Q24 and A25 hitches. Both seem to be pretty quality units, wondering what the real difference is? Do you have a particular recommendation? Thank you.

This is a really good question and one that we actually get quite a bit. You are right that both the Curt Q24 # C16545-16017 and A25 # C16036 are excellent 5th wheel hitches and both are designed to drop right into those factory pucks on your 2020 Ford F-350.
The Curt A25 # C16036 is essentially the upgraded version from the Q-Series hitches, and is the particular model I recommend for your truck. The actual differences come with the jaw and head design. The Curt A25 features an interlocking 2-jaw system that works better to completely surround the trailer king pin for less rattle and noise during travel, creating a really comfortable towing experience. The Q25 does have a nice 2-jaw system as well but it lacks the interlocking design for that extra support.
The Curt A25 has a fully articulating torsion head for easy hookup and a stable ride, while the Q25 uses a unique spherical axial bearing for its head pivot. This does allow for a comfortable ride but it also makes it incompatible with rotating pin boxes, which are showing up more and more as factory units on new trailers.
I have attached a short video review on the A25 that you can check out as well.
