I recommend using the Kat's Heaters Oil/Transmission Pan Heating Pad # KH26150 which is a malleable pad that is attached to your oil pan via a 3M sticky pad and provides heat to keep your oil or transmission fluid from thickening in sub zero temperatures. Since you'll be able to bend this pad to fit your rounded oil pan on your 2006 Subaru Legacy Outback, this is the perfect solution.
