Question:
Hello! I just bought a VW Bus conversion trailer. It weighs 900 lbs and we will only be taking it on short trips 4-6 hours tops so i feel like well be fine on tow weight, but let me know if you think Im crazy. The trailer itself is very sturdy with a well-built tongue and 2inch ball. These trailers on your site say Sedan and Avant and I assume theyll be fine on the Wagon, but wanted to check first. Also, along with this and the 2inch ball, what do I need? This trailer description said it comes with the ball hitch, so I need a 2inch ball it seems it will fit and then what do you suggest I get to connect the Audi lights to the trailer it has a 2 pin connection I believe. Thanks so much for your help, Im ordering this as soon as I get your response and am excited to get this thing attached and moving! Cheers.

The Avant version of the 2003 Audi A4 is the wagon version, so the Curt Mfg. trailer hitch, # 11164, will fit on your vehicle. we have a link to the installation instructions that I attached for you to review.
The Curt Class I receiver hitch is rated by the manufacturer for towing trailers up to 2,000 lbs maximum, fully loaded and ready to travel, and with a maximum tongue weight of 200 lbs.
You will also need trailer wiring. If your trailer has a 4-Way connector the you will use part # 119190KIT. I attached an article detailing ways to route the power wire in the wiring kit. If your trailer has an auxiliary battery for lighting and such or trailer brakes you will also need our Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, # ETBC7, which will provide all of the wiring and circuit breakers needed to complete the wiring after installation of a working 4-Way connector.
Finally, a 2 inch hitch ball, # 19258, will be needed to complete your towing setup. A drawbar, to mount the hitch ball on, and pin and clip, to secure the drawbar in the receiver, are included with the hitch.
