Will the Swagman Roof Top Bike Carrier Hold a 2-1/2 Inch Diameter Bike Frame on a Subaru Outback

HI- I have 20inch childrens bikes with 2-2.5 inch frames and was wondering of the clamp on this rack would fit. They are Diamond Back Jr. Viper and Immpression kids bikes. If not, what would be a good option for me? Thanks..Steve

I spoke with my contact at Swagman and the jaw on the Swagman Rooftop Bike Carrier, # S64720, that you referenced will not hold your 2-1/2 inch bike frames. We do have a number of other rooftop bike racks that will work for you.
I would recommend the Thule UpRide, # TH599000.
Another option that you have is a fork style bike rack like the Swagman Fork Down Bike Rack, # S64710. The difference between a fork style bike rack and a wheel mount bike rack is that the front wheel will need to be removed to use the fork style bike rack.
