Question:
I bought this trailer used from camping world. these tires appear to be new but only have 28 lbs of air pressure now that the trailer has been stored. What is the right trailering air pressure for this tire please. These are ST205/75D/14 . F78-14 K550 tires

Expert Reply:
It appears that the F78-14 K550 tires are the same as the Kenda Loadstar ST205/75D14 Bias Trailer Tire # AM1ST86; these specific tires are Load Range C tires with a maximum capacity of 1760-lbs (per tire). You'll want to refer to the specs on your existing tires to make sure that they are the same (information will be on the sidewall of your tire).
You should always keep your tires at the maximum air pressure, which for this particular tire is 50 psi when cold filled. You'll want to fill up those tires before use so that you're at 50 psi and check them before each use to make sure that you don't have a slow leak and are using them properly inflated.
