Question:
like many, I want to know if a fifth wheel is sustainable on a 6 inch lifted 2017 chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ with off road package. im now regretting getting the 1500, but I dont want to trade it in. im looking at pulling a 6000-lb toy hauler. just for small four wheelers. bed size is the 5' 7" one.

You still might be able to tow a 5th wheel trailer with your 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ even though it does have a 6" lift and the 5-1/2' bed.
What you'll need to do so is install the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails # BWRVK2503 (you'll need to contact B&W for the brackets to make this compatible with your MagneRide Suspension) because it doesn't require drilling and then I recommend using the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30928 because it has a hitch height range of 14" - 18" so it can sit a little lower than most of our other 5th wheel hitches.
You then need to change out the pin box on your 5th wheel trailer to a Sidewinder so that you have the appropriate amount of turning clearance and then use the Custom Wedge # SWW-01 for a better fit with the Sidewinder. I have attached a helpful article that you can reference to help you determine which one is for you.
A vital part of 5th wheel towing is making sure that your trailer is level while having enough clearance (5" - 6") over your side bed rails. I have attached a photo showing helping to demonstrate this. If you need help figuring out what kind of clearance you currently have just let me know the measurement from the ground to the bed of your pickup and then from the ground to the plate on your pin box with your trailer level. It would also help to know how tall your side bed rails are in relation to the bottom of your truck bed.
