Troubleshooting SH Error Code on Prodigy P2 Brake Controller with Neighbor Trailer

Question:

I borrowed neighbors trailer and this code came on. What do I need to do to fix it or how do I remove this code on my unit?

The SH code displayed on a P2 Brake Controller # 90885 means there's a short on the blue wire (brake output) that carries voltage to the trailer brakes. This means somewhere on the output circuit of the trailer there's a short somewhere that needs to be fixed. Most likely it's exposed or cut wire between the connector and the brake assembly that needs to be found and fixed but also could be as easy as some corrosion in the connector on the outside of it.
