Question:
On our 2017 Toyota Prius the connector would be hooked up semi-permanently to a light bar on a bike rack that would stay on the vehicle most of the time. Can the wiring accommodate bringing the 4-pin connector out through the same grommet, and attaching it to or near the hitch receiver itself, so it doesnt have to dangle from the trunk at all times?

Expert Reply:
Yes. As long as you can fit the 4 way flat connector through the grommet, that will be possible. To mount the connector I recommend that you use a mounting bracket to give the installation a cleaner look.
If you've got a Draw-Tite Hitch like # 24966 you can use the Mounting Bracket for 4 Flat # 18144 or if you have a Curt Hitch like the # C11473 you can use the Curt Easy Mount # C58002 .
