Published 10/03/2019 >
Question:
So I know the OEM return connects to the new etrailer trans cooler. My question is does it matter which side of the new etrailer trans cooler i connect. I mounted the new cooler on its left side. Can i have the OEM cooler return run to the bottom of the new cooler? And the top of the new cooler connect to the trans return line. thanks for the help

Expert Reply:
With transmission coolers like the Derale part # D13504 you can use either barb fitting as the inlet or the outlet and the cooler can be installed in any orientation and it will still work great. So if you wanted to run the return line from your factory cooler to the bottom barb like you mentioned it would cool the transmission just as well as any other orientation.
