The Derale 25-Row, High-Performance, Stacked-Plate Cooler with -6 AN Fittings part # D52506 is designed to be used as a supplemental cooler to the factory K5L heavy-duty cooling package in the 2010 Chevy Suburban 2500 however, if your factory transmission cooler is leaking you can bypass it although it is not recommended by Derale. Since you are most likely towing and bypassing your factory cooler you want to use the largest transmission cooler you can get to fit so the 13" wide x 9-3/16" tall x 2" deep Derale D52506 is a good option. If you measure the height, width and depth of the area where you want to mount the transmission cooler you could probably use a larger one.
The optimal location is between the AC condenser and the grill. To bypass the factory cooler you will want to cut off the transmission lines going to and from the radiator. Plug the lines you cut coming from the radiator so they don't leak. Attach the rubber hose to each transmission line and run those to the inlets on the new transmission cooler. There will not be any fittings available to bypass the factory cooler. If there is nothing wrong with the factory cooler, I recommend to just use the Derale as a supplemental cooling system.
