Question:
My tailgate was stolen even with the factory lock locked. How does your product help if thieves can still get around the lock? Im guessing they either popped out the lock cylinder or found some other way to bypass the lock. When I get the tailgate replaced I will get a physical hinge lock but I am curious about installing the pop and lock system.

The Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock part # PAL8250 is a manual to power tailgate lock conversion kit. I am not sure I would say that this product will make your tailgate more secure as it is more of a convenience feature because it lets you use your key fob to lock and unlock the tailgate.
In regards to security, the Pop & Lock The Gate Defender Truck Tailgate Lock part # PAL9900 would actually prevent the tailgate from being stolen and is what I recommend you use as it is very durable and well made. The fact of the matter is that if the would be thief has access to the backside of the tailgate they could unlock it and then lower it down to be removed. The only way to prevent this is to block access inside like with a tonneau cover, the Pace Edwards SwitchBlade Hard Tonneau Cover part # 311-SWF6985 which is metal so not easily breakable or to use a physical lock, the Pop & Lock The Gate Defender Truck Tailgate Lock.
