i inherited a bx1303 and want to modify it to fit my 2013 mini s Roadster. couple questions: other than the base plate what will i need to buy to be able to tow behind my Mercedes sprinter 3500 Navion ? what are the obvious modification issues I will run into for making the 1303 fit the 2013 mini s roadster?

The correct Blue Ox Base Plate Kit for a 2013 Mini Roadster is part # BX1307. I understand you are hoping to save some cash and make the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit part # BX1303 work but that is really just not feasible as these base plate kits are custom fit to exact vehicles. The mounting flanges are in entirely different spots so I can only imagine the amount of modifications needed would far exceed the value of cutting cost. That said, I don't have any tips for this process as this is just not something we can advise on unfortunately. I have attached some other parts you will need below but the main ones are a tow bar, safety cables, and flat-tow wiring harness.
