Trailer Brakes Will Not Lock Up After Installing Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller
Question:
I just purchased a P3 brake controller from you guys to replace my old impulse controller. My old impulse controller is very jerky oh, thats why I wanted to upgrade to the P3 . I used your wiring harness. Unplug old controller plug new controller in. Old controller will easily lock trailer brakes. When adjusting the new P3 even at full power will not start to lock trailer brakes. I have the intensity set all the way up. I have no error codes. Im pulling a very large fifth wheel with a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500. Doesnt appear to be getting full braking. Suggestions

The first thing I would do with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 is increase the boost settings as per the attached photo. If you have already done this or this does not fix your issue then you should redo the setup procedure for the brake controller as laid out in the owner's manual. I have called Tekonsha many times for this exact same issue and these are the first two steps every time. Please note, you will need to be in motion in order to lock the trailer brakes up with the brake pedal.
Once the above is completed and you still have issues, the next steps would be to tighten the braking adjustment and check for power at the braking assemblies.
