Weight Rating of Roadmaster 68 Safety Cables
Updated 09/12/2019 | Published 09/11/2019 >
Question:
To elaborate further on your response to the cable rating - since cables are sold as a set of 2 cables with a rating for 6000 lbs, does this also mean that each cable is rated for 6000 lb? In this case 2 cables could support a load of 2 x 6000 = 12,000 lb. But the rating is actually for 1 cable, in the event a cable detached or failed for any reason and this single cable would still be capable of supporting its rated load of 6000lb.

I'm not 100 percent certain if you are asking what the rating is or stating what the rating is for a cable, but the bottom line is that the Roadmaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643 are rated for 6,000 lbs each, but that does not mean two of them give you a 12,000 lb capacity because if one were to break the capacity is 6,000 lbs and that is what the rating is for.
I have added a link to a video review of these cables for you as well as a link to our entire selection of safety cables and chains.
