Yes, you can use the Roadmaster Single Park Light Diode # RM-690 with a Hopkins Reliance brake controller on your 2018 Toyota Highlander.

The issue is the backfeeding with the Pre-Collision System (PCS) so you want to install this diode to the wire that connects to the cold side of the stop light switch (which is generally the red wire).

Yes, the red wire will be on the back of the controller, you won't have any issue at all finding it. And as far as the direction of the Roadmaster Diode # RM-690, you will want the "OUT" pointing toward the brake controller.
