Will Hands-Free Liftgate Still Work with Trailer Hitch Installed on 2016 Honda CR-V Touring

Question:
Hi. Have a 2016 Honda CR-V with touring trim level. It’s got a hands-free tailgate opening feature where you wave a foot under the bumper. Is the hitch with the 2” receiver compatible? Do I have to move or modify the “detector “ mountings. Thanks.

You will have to kick to the left or right of the receiver on the etrailer.com # e98868 trailer hitch when it's installed on your 2016 Honda CR-V but the hands-free liftgate feature will still work. Even on the newer CR-V models this style of hitch will work and the only time a new sensor kit is needed is when the trailer hitch crosstube is hidden behind the bumper.
Attached is an installation video as well as the written instructions. If you let me know what you plan on using the trailer hitch for I can make additional recommendations if necessary.
