I have a light weight trailer that doesnt have brake controls. Can the blue wire be used for reverse lighting on the trailer?

In regards to the Adapter 4 Pole to 6 Pole and 4 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter part # 37175, the blue or red wire could be used for reverse lights. That said, you would just need to be sure you hook the reverse lights up on the trailer side connector to the adjacent pin.
I have attached a photo that shows how the pins on a 6-pole should be wired but so long as the vehicle and trailer side both match the orientation does not matter.
