You may want to add the crossbar pads # 298-SA1022 for some added protection and cushioning for your kayak, as well as the Cam Buckle Straps # 298-SA0010 to tie down the kayak to the bars.
If you're at all worried about security and intend on leaving your kayak unattended when attached to your vehicle I recommend a cable lock like the Fulton 15 ft # FCLK150100 and the Cable Anchor for your trunk # 298-BA0020 and Window Mounted Cable Anchor # 298-BA0010 .
