How To Fix a Misaligned Pad On the Trailair Rota-Flex 5th Wheel Pin Box

Question:
I read the answer to the question about replacing the rubber in the 21,000 lb 1621. If you look at the picture that I have attached, it is clear that the rubber cushion is out of place and I have tried to put it back into place with no luck. My question is: should I be concerned that this cushion is out of place on my 2016 Grand Design Momentum 376TH 20,000 GVWR and do I need to replace the whole pin box or can it still function as intended?

Yes, the rubber cushion inside the Trailair Rota-Flex 5th Wheel Pin Box like part # LC328329 is essential to its functionality so if this is out of place or misaligned then that is certainly a cause for concern. That said, this is actually covered under warranty as it is a known issue. If you have proof of purchase then Lippert with send you an entire replacement pin box but if you do not have proof of purchase then you would need to replace the pin box on your own. If that is the case then I would need to know what model you have in order to make sure we get you the correct one but the above for a Lippert 1621 is the most common.
