Question:
Do you have to change the relay when you have led and incadesent lights
asked by: Robert B
Expert Reply:
If you're switching from incandescent lights to LED lights on your trailer, then because of the difference in power draw between the two lights you may need to add a resistor between the relay and the light. If you have issues like hyper flashing or voltage bleeding once you've installed the lights you can use a resistor similar to # ALEDRST1B behind each relay, but in front of the lights. This is in order to make sure that your new LED lights aren't overloaded and will function correctly when drawing power from your vehicle. You will need a resistor for each light installed on a turn signal circuit- this includes multi-function lights like the # STL22RB or # STL78RB .
