Hanger Spacing When Using 23-1/8 Double-Eye Leaf Spring on Single Axle Trailer
Updated 08/05/2019 | Published 08/04/2019 >
Question:
SP-216275, 23 1/8” long eye to eye leaf springs for single axle trailer. What should be the correct distance between the spring hangers so the rear shackles lean slightly away from the axle? I am assuming about 22 3/8” but I’m not sure. That is 3/4” shorter than the distance between the spring eyes.

Expert Reply:
On a single axle trailer you will want to have a hanger spacing of around 22-3/4 inches when using the 23-1/8 inch long Double-Eye Spring # e59SR. This will allow that rear shackle to correctly lean away from the axle for proper suspension travel.
