Could this compressor be used to power an airhorn or is a tank needed for that?

You're going to need a compressor with an air tank of at least 2 gallons, so I recommend going with the Air Command II Xtreme Duty Compressor # F2549 . This comes with a 2 gallon air tank, compressor and wiring to install. If you wanted to go with a bigger air tank you could also purchase the Firestone 3 Gallon Air Tank with NPT ports # F9245.
