Tips for Helping Release Gooseneck Ball Stuck in Hitch

Question:
I just purchased a 2019 F-350 that is slightly used. One of these gooseneck balls is still installed in the back. I was curious why the former owner left it, now I know why. It will not come out. I have squeezed the trigger/lever while the handle is in the lowered position, rotated the handle up and it will not come out. Any ideas? Can I knock the 2 pins out on the bar that slides back and forth? I have reached out to the company and am waiting on a response.

First thing to try is soaking the hitch ball in as much WD-40 that you can so that you can hopefully free it up. Let it sit overnight and maybe hit it with a rubber mallet as well. The next thing you can try is putting the weight of a gooseneck trailer on it to see if that releases whatever is binding the ball up.
