Are Different Size Trailer Tires Okay

Question:

Dual axle pontoon trailer tire pressures Front tires are rated 80 psi and rear tires rated 35 psi. Is that a problem?

It could be a problem for you to have tires with different psi ratings because that means it is likely you have different size tires. This will cause them to wear unevenly and for your trailer to potentially track differently and cause possible suspension issues. I very strongly recommend all four tires be the same size with the same load capacity in order to get the best possible performance. It may be something that cost a bit more now but is definitely one of those things that will save you money down the road.

The right trailer tires will have a combined capacity that at least meets but likely exceeds your trailer's GVWR. For example, four of the Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C # AM10234 have a combined capacity of 7,700 lbs. If you let me know your trailer's GVWR as well as the size of tires you need I can make a recommendation for you.
