The first thing to look at is the roof capacity of your vehicle. The combined weight of the rack, 2 kayak carriers, and a pair of 64 pound kayaks is a concern. I confirmed the roof capacity is 110 pounds on the 2018 Civic Sedan.

A better option and my recommendation is carrying your 2 kayaks on a Malone MicroSport Trailer designed for 2 Kayaks # MPG461G2. If you don't already have a tow package or hitch on your Civic, it requires a tow hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11604.

The height of the trailer and the tow hitch need to be as close to level as they can get so they can be safely transported and work well together. When we installed the hitch, we measured the height from the hitch to the ground at 11 inches. The trailer has a 15 1/2 inch height so in order for them to get close to level, we need a ball mount with a rise of about 4 1/2 inches to meet the trailer.

Also because the hitch is 5 inches from the center of the hitch pin to the end of the bumper, additional length on the hitch would help to make sure there is enough clearance for the trailer. The Curt Class II Drawbar # C45015 addresses those concerns. Finally a pin and clip # F-4, 2 Inch Tow Ball # A-82, and a Wiring Harness # C56396 completes the towing setup.

If you still decide to pursue the roof rack option, Yakima Corebars # Y00421 are confirmed to fit the 2018 Honda Civic Sedan.. The Baseline Towers # Y28TR, Baseclips # Y06182, and Fit Kit # Y06183 are needed to complete that installation on the naked roof.
