2019 Toyota Highlander Wiring Harness Installation Tips

Question:
There is a wealth of information but its almost too much to sift through. Here's what I know/discovered about my vehicle: 2019 Highlander 3.5L V6. I dismantled the left side of our tow compartment and found a smaller white connector compared to whats in the video see photo. I am planning on buying this hitch: https://www.etrailer.com/p-E98844.html. Is this still the correct harness? Are there options that can be mounted underneath where the spare tire is that connects directly to the hitch as opposed to feeding under the doors weather stripping? Thank you.

This Hopkins wiring harness does fit your 2019 Toyota Highlander. Since the location of the factory wiring is located inside the car and not under/behind the bumper, you will likely be limited to the current location of the wiring. That being said, the hitch you are looking at # E98844 would be a good choice for your vehicle.
The one suggestion I will make is that if you reference the picture attached to this question, there is a screen shot of a spot in the install video that shows a grommet (circled in red). If you pop up that grommet you might be able to feed the wiring through that spot to the underside of the vehicle; if this does not access the outside of the vehicle you will be limited to running it under the weather stripping and hanging it out of the rear hatch to attach to the wiring harness.
