The CE Smith Bow Roller Assembly part # CE29334 is made of a PVC material so it is a hard material like plastic but much stronger. It is designed to still give a little to road shock so it won't damage the boat. The good thing about the Amber PVC material is that it doesn't mark up the boat at all like traditional rubber rollers.
If you would still prefer rubber, I recommend Yates Bow Roller part # YR3143-4 that measures 3" long and accepts a 1/2" shaft.
