Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2005 Honda CR-V With a Stowmaster All Terrain Tow Bar

When you say a plastic brush guard on your 2005 Honda CR-V, if you are referring to the factory bumper trim package (see photo), then the Roadmaster Base Plates, part # 1555-5, will fit your vehicle. If the plastic brush guard is a separate piece that is added on, then none of the Roadmaster base plates will fit.

The Blue Ox Base Plates, part # BX2238, will not work with a Stowmaster All Terrain tow bar.

So, if your Honda CR-V has the factory bumper trim package you will need base plates, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking, to go with your Stowmaster tow bar.

The base plates will be the Roadmaster Base Plates, part # 1555-5, mentioned above.

For lighting on the CR-V, I would recommend the Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit, part # RM-155. This kit will place separate bulbs in your vehicle tail light housings.

If you need safety cables, I recommend the Roadmaster Coiled Cables, part # RM-643. The coiled design will help keep the cables from touching the ground.

Most states now require a supplemental braking system installed on the vehicle being towed. The easiest to set up and use is the Roadmaster Even Brake # RM-9400. This is a proportional system that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the towing vehicle is braking. Proportional systems are the safest way to stop and reduce wear and tear on both vehicles.

To attach the braking system to your vehicles seat you will need the Roadmaster Seat Adapter, part # RM-88196.
