Troubleshooting Curt Venture Brake Controller that Wont Release Brakes Till Tapped

Question:

After coming to a stop the brakes are not unlocking on the trailer until you tap on the brake pedal again and then they come off. It is a 2009 Chevy Silverado with a Kurt C74VV venture brake control pulling a PJ trailer.

Curt brake controllers like the Venturer part # C74VV that you have are known to have odd issues like you mentioned which is frustrating. What you can do is try unplugging the brake controller for a few seconds and then plugging it back in to see if a reset fixes the issue.

Best solution is going with a more reliable controller like the P3 part # 90195 as this is basically the most reliable brake controller out there.
