Dexter 3,500 Lb Axle Replacement For Utility Trailer

Updated 06/20/2019 | Published 06/19/2019

Question:

I am looking for replacement axle for my utility trailer. Its a single axle trailer that I primarily use for by side by side. Im looking for a replacement in the range of 3500lb capacity. The bolt pattern is 5 at 4 -1/2. I attached a photo of the serial tag attached to the axle. The spring center location seems to be 70inch on center when I tried to measure. The trailer is 6x 12foot .

The tech at Dexter tried to look up the serial number on the axle and it is an older axle that they do not produce anymore. I recommend the 3,500 lb Dexter axle with EZ-Lube Spindles part # T3584F-EZ-8974. The spring center to spring center measurement is 74" so you would need to move the spring seats using part # TRSS238. The axle measures 89" long. The bearings that fit the axle are inner bearing L68149 and outer bearing L44649 so you would need to check your bearings to make sure your current hubs fit the spindle.
