How to Select Cushioned Equalizers for Tandem Axle Toy Hauler
Updated 06/12/2019 | Published 06/11/2019 >
Question:
Hi. I have a 29foot toyhauler with a gross axle rating of 7000#. I am guessing thats 3500# each. Which equalizer would I need? The 3000-6000#? Or the 6000-8000#?

Cushioned trailer suspension equalizers like the Lippert Equa-Flex # LC279688 are chosen based on both their mounting hole spacing and their axle weight rating compatibility. The dimensions of this equalizer are noted in the linked photo and these should be a close match to those of your standard equalizers, but a slight variance is fine. You can measure the center-to-center hole spacing on your existing equalizers (both vertical and horizontal) to make sure your choice is appropriate. Your toy hauler's axles should have labels right on the tubing that indicate their weight rating.
Cushioned equalizers like the Lippert Equa-Flex or Dexter E-Z Flex will add a welcome level of isolation from road shock to your towing setup.
