Troubleshooting Trailer Valet XL Leaning When in Use
Updated 05/30/2019 | Published 05/29/2019 >
Question:
Hi, I purchased a trailer valet xl and was moving my 2500 pound dry trailer down a 15 grade about 6 feet long from my garage to the driveway and the valet started leaning toward the trailer hitch. Is this normal? Was it the way I attached it? Is there some accessory/attachment I could purchase to secure the valet to the trailer hitch so that its guaranteed to stay vertical when taking load? Thanks,

Was the ball starting to pivot in the coupler? Did you have the latch of the coupler completely latched down and then have the collar tightened totally to the bottom of the coupler? If you did this it SHOULD work fine and not tilt like you mentioned. I'd inspect the trailer too to make sure nothing was bent or damaged that would cause this.
If you check out the link to the attached review video for this you'll see how to tighten down the collar of this kit around the 5 minute mark.
