Question:
Is it better for me to get a load range E over a D for a fifth wheel trailer. Is the side walls stronger? THANKS

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, the side walls on a load range E tire will be stronger than the sidewalls on load range D tire. However, just because it is a 5th wheel trailer does not mean you need the higher load range. I assume you have 225/75-15 tires as that is what you were looking at so if this is the case then a load range D will provide you with a 2,540 lb weight capacity per tire and a load range E will provide you with a 2,830 lb weight capacity per tire. If you take this number and multiply it by the number of tires you have, that will then give your total weight capacity which should be as close to the GVWR of your trailer as possible.
That said, if you want to change to a Load Range E. the best option we have for you is the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire part # AM10303.
