Question:

Can I use the replacement track nuts listed below to secure roof racks on my Thule track? I noticed that most of the kits today use the square track nuts but the square nuts do not slide over the screws that hold the track onto the roof of my van. The Replacement Track Nut for Thule Tracker II Half Foot Pack or Tracker Fit Kits TK6, TK8, TK9 # 853-2106 will fit in your tracks and were designed to secure the Tracker II feet to the rail using bolt # 924-0617-15. Without knowing what towers you are using I can't confirm a fit for you there.

If these don't fit over the screws then it sounds like replacing the screws will be needed. Leave the towers as loose as possible until in the correct position where you can then tighten them down. Not leaving slack could absolutely be an issue if you are trying to slide the feet/towers into place without enough clearance.
