Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist For Trailer With Fold Down Tailgate

Question:

I have a performance trailer that the tailgate can go all the way to the floor.i like it because it does not block my rear vision.Can iuse a tailgate lift assist if so what would you recomend my tailgate wil fold down to the ground ,travel upright or fold forward all the way to the floor of the trailer

Yes, you can use a tailgate lift assist with your tailgate that folds down to the ground and all the way to the floor of the trailer.

I recommend the Rack'em Double Barrel Trailer Tailgate Lift assist part # RA-27C because it can easily be unclipped when you want to fold the tailgate down towards the bed of the trailer compared to the other gas strut assist options. The Rack'em is built with a chain that allows you to adjust for the height of the tailgate.

The Rack'em tailgate lift assist requires 52-1/2" of trailer side rail to install. I have attached an installation video for your reference.
