i was told that i need 4 inch clearance between tire and frame edge, i have only 3 inches. that is mounting the shocks outward. an expert at monroe said i should be able to mount the 281281 kit inward and have no clearance problem. what do you think. i was also told that if mounting outward i could you wheel spacers. i have an i beam frame, what do you think about notching the frame by the shock for clearance. i would really like to use this 281281 kit. i have a 2019 puma fifth wheel trailer with 3 inch axle. any ideas?

For your 2019 Palomino Puma 5th Wheel Trailer, I recommend you use the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Kit part # RM-2460-50 instead of the Lippert Components Bolt-On Shock Kit part # LC281281. The reason for this is because the Roadmaster Kit is designed to be mounted on the inside and to the bottom of the frame rail. Therefore, you won't have to worry about the minimal frame to tire clearance that you have now.
Unfortunately, I cannot advise on notching the frame, using wheel spacers, or installing the Lippert Components Bolt-On Shock Kit against what Lippert recommend. These are unnecessary risks to take when there is a kit available that will work for you without any major modifications.
