Question:

I have a lippert model 171317 step on my 2010 Thor four winds winds port I’m thinking the gear on the electric motor is out how can I get a replacement? Would it be in warranty?

The 171317 steps are no longer being manufactured, but we do have a replacement gear plate as part # LC301696, motor part # LC301695, and controller part # LC301702.

My Lippert model 171317 steps are in need of a control module as the voltage going in is normal but 0 coming out to the motor. However my current module has a bracket which is part of the gear assembly attached by 3 bolts through one end of the module. Does the LC301702 module allow for this?

@DavidM Lippert has told us in the past that the control module part # LC301702 is correct to replace the 171317 step module that you have now but it doesn't have any brackets that connect to the gear assembly so I am not sure if that will work exactly like what you have now.

@JamesonC I checked into it some more. The bracket was added as part of a safety recall to beef up the assembly. I’ll have to mark the location of the bracket holes somehow and drill them on the flange of the module in hopes of not stripping the threads when reattaching the bracket. I don’t know if they thought about what happens when you have to replace the module after the modifications.
