Troubleshooting Touchy Electric Brakes with New Brake Assemblies

Question:
I have experienced touchy brakes at slow speeds. Works great coming to a stop, but right before I come to a stop it hits hard and feels like trailer brakes lock up. Does this on 0 boost setting at any voltage. Boost setting on 1 with voltage around 8-8.5 it seems not to do it. Controller is straight and good and hasnt done it all the time. Brakes on trailer are new with the new axles I put in. Just does it here and there for time frame. Other times seems decent.

Since you already tried adjusting the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller # 90195 the cause for the touchy brakes is likely at the brake assemblies themselves. You mentioned that you recently installed new brakes so it could be that they just aren't properly adjusted.
Make sure you are using the adjustment tool to tighten them until you only have a slight drag on the pads. It could be that they are just a bit too tight after the initial install.
If this doesn't resolve the issue please let me know.
