Prodigy P2 Brake Controller Showing N.C. When Connected to Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes

Thanks for taking a look at my question. I have a 2012 Chevy Duramax Dually. I have installed the Prodigy 2 using the wires from under the dash. It has the Factory Intergrated controller in dash still. I have done nothing else but follow your directions in the installing process. My boat trailer is new from the factory with Dexter Brakes installed. I have 4 axels with Disc Brakes on all axels. Now here is the catch. My Boat is on boat stands and my Boat trailer is underneath the boat. The boat is not resting on the Trailer bunks just yet. I was hoping to install the Prodigy 2 in my Chevy and hook my Vehicle to the Boat trailer. I am not ready to move trailer and vehicle just yet. I have to set Boat down on Bunks. But before I did that I was hoping to have Trailer brakes. I am just getting a n.c on my Prodigy 2. So I am not able to tow Boat Trailer first did I screrw up a bit. Is there anyway of stepping on Brake pedal when we set boat down on trailer bunks and have Trailer Brakes. If not I can Block my Trailer wheel with wood blocks. I thought I would here the Dexter Actuator pump when I Applied the foot pedal. I think I got a head of ther game a bit.. Do you think the problem is it does not sence movement. Thank you.

N.C. means "no connection" which is most likely being caused by your P2 not being set into hydraulic mode. Since your trailer has electric over hydraulic brakes it needs to be put into hydraulic mode to be able to connect to the actuator.

Here's how to do that.

First, Enter Reverse Mode by pressing the Boost Button for 5 seconds while the brake pedal is pressed until [ .r ] displayed.

While continuing to have the brake pedal pressed, momentarily release the Boost Button for less than one second and then press and continue to hold the boost button down for an additional 5 seconds.

The display will now change from the boost value to a flashing [ E. ] or [ E.H ]. Depress and release
Boost repeatedly to select the desired mode.

Engage the Manual Knob to accept the mode, or wait 10 seconds for the function to automatically
time out and accept the mode.
