Question:
The new 2018 CR-Vs dont come with a 12v power socket in the back, and I was wondering if it was possible to tap a 12v power socket connector into the trailer hitch harness either directly, or through the 4 pole connector? I wont be drawing much from the socket, at most maybe 1-2 amps.

To add a 12V power socket for you to draw 1-2 amps you will need to add a separate wire because you can't tap into your trailer connector # 118741. You can use the Hopkins 12-Volt Power Socket with Power Wire and Fuse Assembly # HM55115 or Roadmaster # RM-9332.
Your other option since you will need to run wire anyway is to use an adapter like # ETBC7L which will give you a 7-way connection but only the 4-way and 12V power functions you can tap into. It will come with wiring and circuit breaker needed for your 12V connection and amp draw. This is the route I recommend as it allows for the full upgrade if desired or will let you use a wireless brake controller like the Curt Echo # C51180 if desired with no further wiring.
