Can I Install CE Smith Bolster Swivel Brackets On L Shaped Open Cross Member

Does it matter which side of the 3 inch cross member that you attach the bracket? My trailer is a c channel typeone flat side. The videos you have show mounting to an enclosed cross member.

The CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket part # CE10001G-4 attaches to the boat trailer frame with U-bolts. The brackets are designed to install on the inside of the cross member where the bunk boards would be on the frame.
I recommend to use U-bolts part # CE15283GA-4 to install the brackets on the 3 inch channel cross member. I have attached a photo of what the install looks like on a trailer like yours.
