Will Saris Bones Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Put Stress on Glass of 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe

Question:
I was wondering just what stress this rack would have on the back glass of the hatch since the upper weight leg sits on the glass, such as hitting bumps or just normal bouncing such caused by road hauling? Also what damage or problems will the strap attachments do to the rubber gaskets between the door and frame, and what if it starts to rain while I have the rack on will it cause it to leak inside the vehicle?

The Saris Bones 2 Bike Carrier # SA805BL will not put any additional stress on the glass of your 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe because it's weight is spread out and is not forced down on the glass.
The strap attachments are not going to cause any type of issues as they are designed to securely hook on but are rubber and vinyl-coated to keep your Santa Fe completely protected.
In regards to rain, it will not leak whatsoever inside your car if you have the Saris Bones 2 Bike Carrier # SA805BL installed; it will stay warm and dry inside. The rain won't hurt the rack either as it is made of highly durable and strong injection-molded plastic which will never rust.
I have added a link to a video review of this rack for you to take a look at. Additionally, please keep in mind that when using any hanging rack like the Bones you'll need bike frame adapter bar # SA3040 if your bike is dual-suspension, has a step-through frame or you want to carry a small children's bike. The bar will give those bikes a horizontal mounting point so they can be carried by the rack.
