Is Bestop Jeep Cover Waterproof and is Additional Hardware Needed to Install
Updated 01/05/2012 | Published 01/04/2012 >
Question:
I have a factory hardtop. Does this cover require any additional hardware for support, i.e. retainers/surrounds? Adifferent cover we bought was barely water resistant and it leaked tremendously the first night we used it. Is this cover dependably water proof? My jeep is a 2010 Jeep wrangler Unlimited Sahara 4 door

I spoke with the folks at Bestop, who tell me that if installed correctly, the All Weather Trail Cover you mentioned, part # B8104109 will protect the interior of the vehicle from ordinary weather conditions.
Extended exposure to heavy rain or snow can cause some seam leakage. They went on to tell me that this can be stopped by spraying the inside of the seams with Scotchguard. They also recommend that any water that pools on top of the cover be removed as soon as possible.
The cover would not require any additional hardware, the existing top is removed and the bows would be folded down before installing the cover.
For you convenience, I have provided a link to the install instructions.
