Recommended Non-Hitch Bike Racks for a 2018 Forest River Flagstaff Micro Lite 25BDS

Question:

I have a 2018 flagstaff micro lite 25 BDS and wish to install a bicycle rack for 2 bicycles on the back. I dont think there is a way to mount a reciever to the frame so my options are ladder rack or mound to trailer bumper. My concerns are the strength of the light weight metal of the bumper and will the ladder actually withstand the weight of the bikes without coming loose from the trailer ?

I can't really speak to your concerns about the strength of the bumper on your 2018 Forest River Flagstaff Micro Lite 25BDS but I can speak to the ladder bike rack concern. The Stromberg Carlson 2 Bike Carrier # LA-102 itself only weighs 7 lbs and it has a weight capacity of 25 lbs per bike. That means the most weight you will be putting on your ladder is 57 lbs which isn't a whole lot considering that ladder is meant for grown adults to climb.

Another option that you may not be aware of is the Jack-It 2 Bike Rack # LC429756. This actually installs over your A-Frame trailer jack and can carry up to 2 bikes weighing in at 40 lbs each. Not only does this give you a viable option for fitting your bikes on your trailer but you can also use it to transport your bikes on your vehicle using the Bump-It Hitch Receiver Adapter # LC723359.
