Will The Surco Roof Basket Fit the Flush Mount Rails on The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I do have a cargo roof basket that works on the Jeep Grand Cherokee but the Surco basket part # SPS4550-1101 only fits on raised side rails. The Jeep only comes with flush mount rails. The roof either has plastic or metal flush mount rails. I recommend adding a roof rack with crossbars to use a cargo basket.

If your roof has metal flush mount rails you can use Rhino-Rack Vortex Bars part # RRVA126B-2 with the legs part # RRRCL4 to attach to the fixed mounting points and fit kit part # RRRCP27-BK.

If you have the plastic rails, you can use the bars part # RRVA137B-2 part # RRRLKVA for the legs and part # DK234 for the fit kit. The Vortex Aero bars are also designed to cut down on wind noise compared to the square bars of the other Rhino roof rack available for your vehicle.

Since the Surco roof basket only fits round or square roof rack bars, I recommend the Thule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket - Steel - 150 lbs # TH859XT to attach to the Vortex Aero Bars. The Thule Basket measures 49" long x 40" wide x 6" deep and attaches to the 3-1/8 inch wide Vortex Bars. The Thule Basket compares to the size of the Surco carrier and fits the Vortex bars. The weight capacity of the basket is 150 lbs.
