Question:
My Bruno ASL 250 lift draws 5amps in operation. Will the battery pin on a 7way connector on a 2016 RAM 2500 HD supply the needed power requirements

The 7-way trailer wiring format include an auxiliary 12V power circuit that is typically rated for 30 or 40-amps, depending on whether the install is factory or aftermarket. I checked the online manual for the 2016 Ram and page 841 indicates the auxiliary power circuit is protected with a 30-amp pink fuse in fuse cavity F30.
This will give you plenty of capacity for your lift's 5-amp draw.

If that 7-way can provide 30-40A, shouldn’t the wire gauge be 8 gauge, or larger? The power Center box may have a 30A fuse but there will be problems if the circuit only has 10-12 gauge wiretap
